Alabama Wing, Army National Guard Examine Further Collaboration

Collaboration conversation

ALwingIncreased collaboration was the focus when officials with the Alabama Wing and the Alabama National Guard met recently.

Cols. Brian Williams, Alabama Wing commander; Todd Wheeler, Alabama National Guard chief of plans; and Joshua Cloud, Alabama National Guard chief of staff, discussed working together during disaster response missions and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) training, along with the use  of Army National Guard facilities for Civil Air Patrol activities. Robert Griffith, CAP-USAF Southeast Region liaison, participated in the conversation as well.

Collaboration between the Alabama Wing and the Army National Guard resulted in the presence of a CH-47 Chinook helicopter at the Army Air LOGOwing encampment at Marion Military Institute in early June.

Army National Guard Headquarters in Montgomery is about 10 miles from Maxwell Air Force Base, home to both Alabama Wing Headquarters and CAP National Headquarters.
