Conn. Wing Provides Aerial Photos

The Connecticut Wing performed a coronavirus-related photographic and video mission of 17 locations throughout the state at the request of the Connecticut National Guard and Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security through the state’s Emergency Operations Center.

Two aircrews took 84 photos and 14 live DAART (Domestic Operations Awareness and Assessment Response Tool) videos of locations that included private and public facilities being used for COVID-19 testing areas or being considered for that purpose.

“We were honored to be asked to assist the Connecticut National Guard with this task and thereby support our state and the nation by providing important airborne photography tasks,” said Col. James Ridley, Connecticut Wing commander. “Our well-earned reputation with the state Department of Emergency Management as well as the Connecticut National Guard for professionalism was reinforced by the success of this latest mission.

“I am proud of our aircrew members as well as our mission team on the ground, who helped to coordinate the assigned tasks effectively.”
