Delaware Members Assist as Thunder Over Dover Returns

DE WingBirds and Blues logoDelaware Wing members spent the weekend of May 21-22 providing support for the Thunder Over Dover air show’s return after a two-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cadets and senior members assisted with crowd control, as the event drew more than 75,000 visitors, while also educating the public about Civil Air Patrol.  Two of the aircraft assigned to the Delaware Wing were on display, with pilots on hand to answer questions from the public. Meanwhile, cadets staffed a nearby information.

The air show served as a fitting celebration of Armed Forces Day, May 21, featuring performances by  both the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and U.S. Navy Blue Angels.

When they weren’t working, the Delaware Wing members  enjoyed the aerobatics  and explored the various displays.
