Georgia, South Carolina Wing Members Provide Air Show Assistance

Cadets and adult members from the Georgia and South Carolina wings teamed up the weekend of May 13-14 to help ensure the Augusta Air Show, held for the first time in more than a decade, ran smoothly at Augusta Regional Airport.
In all, 41 members – 28 cadets and 13 adults – from the Georgia Wing’s Augusta Composite Squadron and the South Carolina Wing’s Aiken Composite Squadron totaled some 656 volunteer hours.
Along the way, they were able to talk with hundreds of air show visitors about Civil Air Patrol.
In addition, cadets were able to meet and talk with several members of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds crew. The Thunderbirds’ performance marked their first visit to Augusta in 23 years.
