Louisiana Cadets Provide Honor Guard for Competition

Cadets from the Louisiana Wing’s Lake Charles Composite Squadron provided a color guard March 19 for the 2022 Swamp STOL (Short Take Off and Landing) national competition in Jennings,. 

Cadet Chief Master Sgt. Wesley Felice and Cadet Senior Master Sgt. Abbigale Rougeau carried the U.S. and Louisiana flags, with Cadet Senior Airmen Samantha Jordan and Allyssa Rougeau serving as rifle guard. 

Other cadets marshalled planes and kept the runways clear of debris.

STOL is a cross between a drag race and an aircraft control competition. Participants compete in landing in feet and inches, with the winner totaling the lowest combined takeoff and landing distance.
