National Conference Presentation Proposals Sought

It’s time once again to prepare for the 2022 Civil Air Patrol National Conference, scheduled for Aug. 25-27 in Louisville, Kentucky.

At the 2021 National Conference, CAP explored a new way of finding and selecting content for presentations and learning sessions by accepting proposals from any member who wants to present. This resulted in a variety of sessions created and presented by members and staff from National Headquarters, national staff, and more than 25 wings and regions.

By bringing in session content from across the organization, CAP can provide conference participants with the opportunity to learn about new ideas, concepts, and practices from every level.

“Thanks for the opportunity to present at the Civil Air Patrol National Conference 2021. This was my first time presenting for CAP at a national event, and I very much appreciated the training sessions and materials provided by the CAP team.” — Maj. Ron Marks, Arizona Wing

Remember that your goal is to provide the best possible experience for your fellow CAP members. To do that you will have to avoid “death by PowerPoint” and focus on how to get your audience fully engaged and interacting with you, your presentation, and each other.

All presentation types will be allotted 45 minutes save the discovery sessions, which are intended to last six to eight minutes.

“I greatly appreciated the opportunity to share the story of “CAP Aviation & Safety Heritage World War II” with thousands of CAP volunteers across the country at the National Conference.” -- Lt. Col. Don Stanton, Colorado Wing

All proposals will be evaluated by a team of volunteer members and national staff, then vetted by the respective offices and functional areas for mission relevance and accuracy. While conference planners are eager to receive proposals from members, the number of presentations we can host is limited, and we will have to prioritize as best we can based on the needs of the organization and the conference.
