Pierce Named Next Nev. Wing Commander
Lt. Col. Deborah Pierce has been named the next commander of the Nevada Wing by Col. Jon Stokes, Pacific region commander. She will succeed Col. Carol Lynn, wing commander since October 2015.
Pierce is a 30-year member of CAP and has served as wing vice commander since August 2015. She has served in various command and staff roles in both the California and Nevada wings and has also served on the Pacific Region Staff College staff the last 14 years, including the past two years as co-director.
She has attained Master ratings in Professional Development, Personnel and Administration and Senior Ratings in Inspector General and Command in addition to receiving the Gill Robb Wilson Level V award.
In her new role, Pierce will set a course of growth and development for the Nevada Wing. She will also explore a new, innovative approach to performing Civil Air Patrol’s three primary missions – emergency services, cadet programs and aerospace education – and integrating the wing’s goals and objectives with national and region strategic plans.
Pierce will assume command In January. Until then, she’ll work closely in transition with Lynn, who will be joining Pacific Region staff as region vice commander.
