Wisconsin Cadets Explore Flight

WIwingCadets from the Wisconsin Wing's Walco Composite Squadron took their first flights during two days of weekend orientation rides

Milwaukee Senior Squadron 10 provided the aircraft and pilots for the activity.

“We are looking to eventually acquire our own plane as part of a greater focus on a aerospace education and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math),” said Capt. John MacDonald, commander of the Walco squadron

A corporate jet pilot who flew fixed- and rotary-wing U.S. Army aircraft, Maj. Dan Lund, and an Unmanned Aerial Systems expert, 1st Lt. Keith Dirsa, have recently joined the squadron.

Milwaukee’s NBC affiliate, WTMJ-TV, showed photos  Feb. 20 from the weekend.
