Volunteers serving America's communities, saving lives, and shaping futures.
Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is a nationwide community of volunteers dedicated to service, leadership, and aerospace education. As the official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, CAP blends the spirit of volunteerism with real-world missions that protect and uplift communities every day. From emergency responders and pilots to youth leaders and educators, our members come from all backgrounds — united by a shared purpose: to serve, to learn, and to lead.

When disaster strikes, CAP volunteers step up. We assist with search and rescue, aerial imagery, disaster relief, and critical support for local, state, and national agencies. Whether in the air or on the ground, we’re trained to respond quickly when our communities need us most.

CAP offers one of the nation’s most unique youth development experiences for ages 12–21. Cadets grow through hands-on leadership training, fitness, character development, and immersive aerospace experiences.

We inspire curiosity and spark passion for aviation, space, and STEM. CAP provides learning opportunities for members, schools, and communities — empowering future innovators, pilots, and problem-solvers.
