The top two performers in the Pacific Region Cadet Competition switched places this year when the Alaska Wing’s Kodiak Composite Squadron team captured first and the Washington Wing’s Overlake Composite Squadron finished second. 

The California Wing’s San Diego Cadet Squadron 144 repeated its third-place performance from 2024. 

Ten teams in all competed, with these seven rounding out the field: 

California Wing Diablo Composite Squadron 44 

Hawaii Wing Maui Composite Squadron 

Nevada Wing  Douglas County Composite Squadron 

Tahoe Truckee Composite Squadron 

Oregon Wing Gorge Composite Squadron 

Washington County Composite Squadron 

Washington Wing Columbia Basin Composite Squadron 

The Kodiak cadets finished in the top three in all seven categories — first in Indoor Drill, Written Exam, and Team Leadership Problem; second in Standard Drill and Element Drill; and third in Inspection and Physical Fitness. 

In addition, Cadet 1st Lt. Isaac Hall and Cadet Senior Airman Aleksander Nichols, both on the Kodiak team, led the field with the highest written exam scores.

The Kodiak team consisted of:

  • Cadet 1st Lt. Isaac Hall

  • Cadet 2nd Lt. Liam Long

  • Cadet 2nd Lt. Vivian Lorch

  • Cadet Chief Master Sgt. Kaylin Burnside

  • Cadet Senior Airman Nichols Aleksander 

  • Cadet Senior Airman Daniel Dorado

Hall, Long, and Lorch also competed on the second-place 2024 team.

The Overlake team placed first in Standard Drill and Element Drill, second in Indoor Drill, and third in Team Leadership Problem.

Making up the Overlake team were:

  • Cadet Capt. Brenton Natale

  • Cadet 1st Lt. Tyler Wentz

  • Cadet 2nd Lt. Stella Stefani

  • Cadet Chief Master Sgt. Sofia Luferenko

  • Cadet Chief Master Sgt. Sarah Tafas 

  • Cadet Chief Master Sgt. Raina Tuladhar

Natale and Luferenko returned from last year’s first-place team.

The San Diego team captured two first places, in Inspection and Physical Fitness, and two third places, in Indoor Drill and Element Drill.

The San Diego squadron team consisted of:

  • Cadet 2nd Lt. Kevin Cheeseman

  • Cadet 2nd Lt. Lauren Smith

  • Cadet Chief Master Sgt. Sebastian Gaspar

  • Cadet Chief Master Sgt. Nicolas Hartle

  • Cadet Master Sgt. Ng Itski

  • Cadet Staff Sgt. Noelle Martin 

Smith, Gaspar, and Hartle were also members of last year’s third-place team.
