The Florida Wing’s Pines-Miramar Composite Squadron provided a Civil Air Patrol presence for the more than 1,600 students attending the seventh annual Miramar Aviation Expo to explore the world of flying and pursue dreams of becoming pilots.
The squadron’s booth proved to be a hub of excitement and learning as students engaged with seven interactive flight simulators over the two-day event. All simulators were expertly operated by cadets — aspiring aviators themselves.
Showcasing leadership skills garnered in CAP, the cadets effectively managed the large crowds of students eager to try out the simulators. They also discussed aerospace fundamentals and highlighted benefits of participating in CAP.
“This was a powerful opportunity to connect with our community and the next generation of aviators,” said 2nd Lt. Treicy Soto, Pines-Miramar public affairs officer.
“Our cadets exemplified the values of Civil Air Patrol by inspiring, educating, and leading by example.”
