The Illinois Wing’s Magnus Composite Squadron has been recognized as the 2025 Squadron of Distinction for the Great Lakes Region for exceptional overall performance in the cadet program.
Col. Curtis Boehmer, Great Lakes Region commander, presented the award April 29. Col. Al Reynoso, commander of the Illinois Wing, was also in attendance for the presentation.
“This award is not just about a single achievement — it’s a reflection of the dedication, consistency, and teamwork that this squadron has demonstrated throughout 2024,” Boehmer said.
The Squadron of Distinction award is based on multiple performance metrics, including cadet advancement, program participation, community service, aerospace education, and overall mission readiness. Only squadrons that have consistently demonstrated excellence in all areas of cadet development are considered for the honor._____Cadet Senior Airman Abdullah KundiMagnus Composite SquadronIllinois Wing
