

Cadets from a pair of Minnesota Wing squadrons took the top two spots in the North Central Region Cadet Competition, with a North Dakota Wing cadet team placing third.
All eight Civil Air Patrol regions are conducting their own competitions, previously held to select teams for the National Cadet Competition. The national event has been discontinued, with an eye toward increasing participation across CAP while reducing demands on time and resources.

First place went to the Duluth Composite Squadron, which won four of the six team categories — Standard/Element Drill, Inspection, Physical Fitness Test, and Team Leadership Problem — and placed second in Indoor Drill and Outdoor Drill.
The team consisted of:

Cadet Chief Master Sgts. Sophia Thomas and Ava Thompson
Cadet Master Sgt. Ryan Thompson
Cadet Tech. Sgt. Nicholas Winter

Finishing second was the Viking Composite Squadron, which won the Outdoor Drill category and placed second in Standard/Element Drill and Service Project.

In third was the Bismarck Composite Squadron, which finished second in Inspection and Team Leadership Problem.

The South Dakota Wing’s Lincoln County Composite Squadron won the Indoor Drill, while the Missouri Wing’s Table Rock Lake Composite Squadron and Springfield Regional Composite Squadron finished first in the Service Project and Kahoot Panel Quiz categories, respectively.
The North Dakota Wing’s 119th ANG Cadet Squadron placed second in the Inspection and Kahoot Panel Quiz categories, as did the Kansas Wing’s Konza Composite Squadron in the Physical Fitness Test category.
Cadets from the Konza squadron were the top performers in two of the three individual categories:

Cadet Chief Master Sgt. Jackson Merry — Fleet Foot, Male
The other individual category winner hailed from the Kansas Wing’s Air Capital Composite Squadron:
Cadet Staff Sgt. Emma Johnson — Fleet Foot, Female
Rounding out the was the South Dakota Wing’s Rushmore Composite Squadron.
